"Don't punish your dog, train it"
Care we provide:
We take a preventative medicine approach when caring for our pets.
The kennel runs are washed twice a day and disinfected once a day.
The stainless steel containers used for food and water are washed daily.
All waste is washed to a sewer treatment system.
The housing area is heated and cooled to a comfortable temperature year round.
A concrete wall and chain link fence dividing the runs prevents the dogs from hurting each other, contaminating each other, or unintentional mating.
Inbreeding and cross breeding is not allowed in any way or for any reason.
Purina Hi Pro is used for the adult dogs and Puppy chow is used for puppies and whelping mothers.
The mothers are also given Pet-Tabs vitamins during pregnancy and until pups are weaned.
Puppies are fed Purina Puppy Chow for at least one year.
Cow hooves are given to all dogs to chew on, they last very long and keep them busy.
The pups are vaccinated with 8 in 1 vaccines at 8, 10, and 12 weeks, then annually.
Rabies vaccination is given at 4 months and then annually.
For heart worms Ivermecton is given at 10 weeks and then monthly.
Nemex II is given at 2, and 4 weeks, Panicure is given at 6 weeks and then every 3 months.
For fleas, ticks, mosquitoes and flies we use Adams Flea and Tick Mist, Avon's SSS, and the dens are lined with red cedar.
A fan keeps a positive pressure inside kennel to help stop any kind of flying insects from entering in the summer time.

Spider Bite (Brown Recluse):
Here is some informations on the Brown Recluse. These spiders are very poisions to both dogs and people.
Identification:
Adult brown recluse spiders are soft-bodied, yellowish-tan to dark brown, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long and have long, delicate grayish to dark brown legs covered with short, dark hairs. The leg span is about the size of a half dollar. Distinguishing characteristics are the presence of three pairs of eyes arranged in a semicircle on the forepart of the head and a violin-shaped, dark marking immediately behind the semicircle of eyes with the neck of the violin pointing towards the bulbous abdomen. Both the male and female brown recluse spiders are similar in appearance and equally toxic. The immature stages closely resemble the adults except for size and a slightly lighter color.

Click on the links below show that will happen to a Recluse bit if unattended. Beware these pictures are not for the fait at heart.

Mosquitos
Mosquitoes are a common threat all around the world. They are the carriers of many dangerous diseases, including the now famous West Nile. Dogs are in particular danger from getting bitten, due to the fact they can not swat or use repellents. One way of keeping your dogs safe is to not allow standing water near or around where your dog might roam. Listed below is some compiled information on some mosquitoes repealing tips:
Use Bounce Fabric Softener Sheets...Best thing ever used in
Louisiana..just wipe on & go...Great for Babies
Bob, a fisherman, takes one vitaimin B-1 tablet a day
April through October . He said it works. He was right.
The odor the tablet gives out through your skin
(YOU can not smell it) repels mosquitos, black flies,
no seeum's, and knat's. It does not work on stinging insects.
Hasn't had a mosquito bite in 33 years. Try it.
Every one he has talked into trying it works on them.
Vitimin B-1( Thiamine Hydrochloride 100 mg.)
NPR reports that if you eat bananas,
the mosquitos like you, something about the banana oil
as your body processes it. (Maybe they need the potassium too- lol)
Stop eating bananas for the summer and the mosquitos
will be much less interested.
One of the best
insect repellents someone found (who is in the woods
every day), is Vick's Vaporub.
Plant marigolds around the yard, the flowers give off
a smell that bugs do not like,
so plant some in that garden also to help ward
off bugs without using insecticides.
"Tough guy" Marines who spend a great deal of time
"camping out" say that the very best mosquito
repellant you can use is
Avon Skin-So-Soft bath oil mixed about
half and half with alcohol.
mix your own:
20 drops Eucalyptus oil
20 drops Cedarwood oil
10 drops Tea Tree oil
10 drops Geranium oil
2 oz. carrier oil ( such as Jojoba )
Mix together in a 4 oz. container. Apply to skin as
needed avoiding the eye area. Keep out of reach
of children. Test on a small area of skin for sensitivities .
Experiment with different percentages of essential oil
A common repelent is clear real vanilla (not the grocery store
vanilla extract which is mostly alcohol). This is the pure
vanilla that is sold in Mexico. It's cheap there if you know
of someone that lives there or in the US close to the border.
If not, health food stores usually carry it or can order it
for you. I use it half vanilla and half water and find
that it works great for mosquitoes and ticks
